Step into Makali‘i, a spellbinding Polynesian performance that weaves together dance, song, fire, and legend in a journey across the Pacific. From the moment you arrive, a warm aloha greets you along with a handcrafted welcome cocktail, before you’re led into an air-conditioned theater where immersive storytelling, high-energy choreography, and rich cultural traditions unfold. Enjoy Tahitian drumming, hula kahiko & ‘auana, the Māori Haka, and fire knife dance transport you through ancient tales of voyaging, mana, and connection to the sea.
Directed by Kawaiola Sellers, Makali‘i is designed to honor and elevate the ancestral heritage of Tahiti, Hawai‘i, Samoa, and Māori cultures. The show is staged at Da Playground Maui—a community-minded venue with state-of-the-art sound, laser lighting, and an inclusive spirit—making each performance not just entertainment, but a vibrant celebration of Pacific identity and storytelling.
